Climbing the Pitons

Towering nearly 3,000 feet above sea level, the majestic peak of Gros Piton, along with its twin peak Petit Piton, dominates the western coast of St Lucia. The lush green slopes of these pyramid shaped icons rise from the sapphire blue waters of the Caribbean, filling the adventurous traveler with wanderlust. The view itself is a classic - the Pitons of Saint Lucia, soaring straight up from the sea's edge Oprah Magazine says that of the five things you must do in your lifetime, a visit to the Pitons is number one. Snaking up the misty, jungle-covered, boulder-strewn mountainsides for the huge views from the top is an experience well worth the hike. Afterwards we'll head to a rest stop for a sumptuous lunch and refreshing swim.

Soufriere Adventure Cruise

We're in for a treat with a relaxing catamaran day cruise down the West Coast to Soufriere. We'll enjoy the rugged beauty of the coastline and the breathtaking awe of the majestic Piton Mountains. In Soufriere, we'll be amazed by the Sulphur Springs "drive-in-volcano", as well as the splendid Diamond Waterfall. After a soothing walk through the tropical Botanical Gardens, we'll dine at a local restaurant then cruise to Anse Cochon for some snorkeling. We'll finish off the day with a stop at Marigot Bay and take in the breathtaking view for a truly priceless photo op.

Sugar to Rum Revelation

Our journey takes us first to the expansive Roseau Valley once cultivated for sugar cane but now Saint Lucia's largest banana plantation, and then to the restored Sugar Mill at La Sikwi in the quaint fishing village of Anse la Raye. We'll visit a museum and learn the history of sugar in the West Indies. Then it's time to sample an array of locally produced rums and liquors at a distillery. On our return trip we will stop at the picturesque Marigot Bay for a once in a lifetime photo opportunity.
