Accommodations

La Villa Hermosa

We will stay in a private guest house with a view of the Arenal Volcano. The Villa includes our own private pool, acre of tropical gardens, and game room. Tucked away, 20 minutes from La Fortuna, we have the opportunity to seclude ourselves in between our adventures throughout the countryside.

Entertainment/Activities

Adventure Canyoneering

Canyoneering?? Yes! This new sport combines rappeling, down-climbing, and river-tracing in the tropical canyon. Our half-day adventure will begin with a fun 4X4 off-road adventure through the mountainside. Then we will get wet rappelling down 3 waterfalls (15 ft, 150 ft, and 200 ft!!!). We will hike back up to the top and sit down to a delicious Costa Rican lunch.

Canopy/ Zip Line Tour

In the Arenal Paraiso Canopy, we will fly above the treetops and see some of the most amazing views of the Costa Rica jungle.

Night Hike, Dinner, and Hot Springs

We will start our evening by hiking around the Arenal Volcano. Following the hike, we will go to the luxury resort, 'The Springs' to enjoy the 20 hot and cold springs and pools that are naturally formed and heated, surrounded by rainforest. We will also enjoy a delicious dinner buffet in between our dips in the hot springs.

Safari Float Trip On The Penas Blancas River

Floating down the Penas Blancas River, we will discover true peacefulness as we observe monkeys, sloth, iguanas, turtles, crocodiles and many species of birds. Rowing quietly and gently down the river will enable us to take photos, enjoying the sounds of nature, sipping on a drink and indulging on the local tropical fruits and not even disturbing the animals!

Volunteering at Proyecto Asis Wild Animal Rescue

We will spend 4 hours enjoying and helping out at the local animal rescue center. We will learn about the sanctuary and be put to work by feeding the animals (boards, kinkajous, monkeys, caimans, and sloths) as well as doing some trail repair, cage building, painting, and planting trees. The tour proceeds are donated to Proyecto Asis. As we enjoy this beautiful country and wildlife, we would love to help preserve it.
